Privacy & Data Security Statement

Last Updated: March 2025

Online Divorce Mediation Lawyer and our panel of attorneys are committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of all client information submitted through our platform.

How We Use xAI Technology

As part of our mediation analysis process, certain structured client data (in the form of anonymized or pseudonymized proposals and preferences) may be transmitted to the xAI enterprise API for the limited purpose of generating proposed equitable settlement options.

Key Protections in Place

  1. No Model Training
xAI does not use any inputs, outputs, or uploaded files from the ODL platform to train, fine-tune, or improve its models. This is a contractual guarantee under xAI’s enterprise API terms and Data Processing Addendum (DPA).
  2. Ephemeral Processing & Deletion
All data sent to the xAI API (including uploaded PDF files) is processed in memory where possible and is automatically deleted within a maximum of 30 days after processing.
  3. Encryption & Data Location
Data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and at rest using AES-256 encryption. All processing occurs on xAI infrastructure located entirely within the United States.
  4. Limited Human Access
Access to client data by xAI personnel is strictly limited to authorized individuals under confidentiality obligations and only occurs in response to specific security incidents or legal requirements.
  5. Compliance & Processor Role
xAI acts solely as a data processor under the direction of ODL. xAI maintains SOC 2 Type 2 compliance.

Attorney Responsibilities

Attorneys using the ODL platform retain their independent ethical duty of confidentiality. We recommend that attorneys:

  • Obtain informed consent from clients before submitting data for AI-assisted analysis.
  • Use the platform only for appropriate, non-high-risk cases.
  • Review and exercise independent professional judgment over any AI-generated settlement proposals.

This statement is provided for informational purposes and does not constitute legal advice. Attorneys should consult their own ethics counsel as needed.
